Labor Day Blues

Today has been so much cooler and calmer than in days past and a feeling of peace is rocking my soul right now.  I’m glad that everyone gets to celebrate Labor Day with their families and I hope the cookouts or beach days or whatever you choose end up  to be memory makers. If you can’t be with your family, I hope that somehow you can still spend some time wrapped up in warm thoughts, even if its just kicking back for a few moments with your memories.

What I wanted to write about today is about the beauty of blue as it streams across a perfect picnic.  We lay back on our blankets and look into the sky and it makes us smile, so big.  As the clouds pass by we decide what they look like to us and it makes us laugh for a little while.  Or as we slip into the sweet  blue water of a swimming pool and the first icy touches make us shiver with the truth that we are alive and our lives are passionate about being lived.  It is the way that God meant us to feel about our lives.

The blue in the field of stars in our flag make us feel happy to be united in a country where we are allowed to celebrate hard work, a day to pat ourselves on the back and say good job and what you do is important.  It is important that you know that if you are in a family where mom and/or dad contribute to the success of our communities and you are supporting them, with love, hugs, kisses and doing what you know is right, you deserve that pat as well.

As you look to the sky this Labor Day and enjoy it’s beauty, don’t forget that our creator is perhaps the biggest laborer of all because the universe and all that there is  and will every be started out as just a twinkle in his eye.  And although He never rests because He is so needed by all, He still carries within him, the love, the caring for each of us, whether we believe in him or not.  The truth of him is in that smile or that laugh on a perfect day and also in that extra ounce of energy that allows you to move on when you think you can’t anymore.  It’s why He never stops and so to Him, all of his souls say thank you. 🙂

You might wonder why there is no blue in the picture that I chose to use.  It is because you can see that this little angel carries her blue, her happiness inside and looking at her gives you that feeling that I wanted to share with you today. It invoked a feeling that said to me, even though you can’t see the blue, it doesn’t mean it’s not there….Faith…..

Have a great Labor Day.  Hopefully it will be a beautiful day, but even if it rains remember you have enough blue inside to cover it:)

Onward and Upward!

  1. All the words that mean “calm” come to mind. I just wish I could “practice what you preach”. What used to be easy has become more difficult than ever. But your words elicit a few minutes of peace as they invoke feelings of floating away on a cloud. Thanks!

  2. I know, sometimes it gets overwhelming for me, like today when Sammy was tested by the school system and he just didn’t want to cooperate. I guess we just have to keep reminding each other and this is how we get by, with a little help from our friends:)
